AquaWatch is an advanced water security intelligence platform developed to monitor, track, and forecast groundwater table dynamics across Pakistan. By combining NASA GRACE satellite gravity telemetry with local provincial aquifer sensors, the platform maps localized water stress levels and groundwater depletion.
The purpose of this scientific experiment is to establish a comprehensive open access aquifer database to help policy makers, hydrologists, and community leaders make data-driven decisions. Tracking water stress helps optimize crop-water allocations, reduce agricultural over-pumping, and implement recharging mechanisms in critical basins like the Indus Basin aquifer.
Continuous telemetry enables our sensors to catalog localized depths in real-time. This provides early warning indicators of drought risk, saltwater intrusion in delta regions, and acute drinking water scarcity.
